Alfredo Sauce

1 pint heavy cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
1 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese (about 4 ounces)
Fresh ground black pepper to taste

Heat cream in a  saucepan. Add butter and stir until melted and well mixed.  Add cheese slowly while stiring, pepper to taste.  Continue simmering just at or below a boil until sauce thickens.

Yield: About 3 1/2 cups or enough for around pound of pasta and and to cover 4-8 entrées
